There are union worries that expected job losses at Royal Bolton Hospital will have an effect on patient care. About 200 positions are set to go across Bolton NHS Foundation Trust (BNFT), due to a fiscal rescue plan. The Trust said patient services were safe. Health watchdog Monitor found in March that Royal Bolton Hospital had not reached waiting time targets for accident and emergency patients. Monitor asked BNFT to produce a plan of action to deliver “sustainable improvements”.
