Time and attendance system ensures compliance with European Working Time Directive

Up to 15 jobs will be lost at a fire crew call base in Cockermouth as a result of re-organisation of the service. The posts will go when calls are taken from Warrington as from next year. The move follows plans for Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside Fire Services to share a regional centre by 2014. The fire services estimate the total savings generated by the regional centre could be £19.4m by 2023.
