Sainsbury’s set to open new store in Southport, create more jobs in the area

Supermarket giant Sainsbury’s has received planning permission to use a property on Bispham Road in Southport in order to build a brand-new store in the area and create multiple jobs, a news report in the local business media has recently revealed.

Planning officers at Sefton Council have recommended the plans be approved, especially since permission to change the use of the property from office to retail use is not required. The council chose to ignore the concerns raised by a petition of more than 600 signatures against the plans.

The supermarket also applied for planning permission in a separate application for the installation of a new shop front, ATM and ram-raid bollards. The council’s planning department has already approved this and no objections were received for this application.
