Revenue generating toilet turnstiles can protect public conveniences from closure

The few remaining free public toilets are to set to be shut down in Manchester due to lack of interest from the public when quizzed about their closure. The council currently operates six public conveniences which need daily cleaning and repairs. They are in Barlow Moor Road, Didsbury; Burton Road, Withington; Holyhead Road, Benchill; Humphrey Street, Cheetham Hill; and Chorlton and Wythenshawe bus stations. It also runs five ‘autoloos’ and a number of temporary urinals for the city centre at weekends.
