There are job fears for seafood sites at Seaham, Whitehaven and Amble. A restructuring means that up to 550 jobs could be lost at the County Durham, Cumbria and Northumberland based firm Cumbrian Seafoods. A consultation has begun with staff at the three depots. Broken down, the losses would be up to 363 jobs in Seaham, 112 in Whitehaven, and 80 in Amble. The new owner said it is committed to talking with its employees about options for the future.
