Plans put forward for 118-home development north of Preston

Plans for building a new development north of Preston, containing around 118 new homes, have been lodged with the local authority, a recent news report in the local media has been able to find.

The land, which is approximately 5 km from Preston, currently contains open fields, hedges and trees. However, housebuilder Charles Church has lodged a full planning application with Preston City Council to create 118 homes, of which 35 would be affordable housing, on the site.

It is proposed to build 17 five-bed properties, 36 four-bed properties, 49 three-bed properties and 16 two-bed properties.

A design and access statement by Charles Church said that the scheme would generate a massive boost to the local economy through the construction industry, lead to the creation of approximately 18 direct retail and leisure care jobs, contribute £1.3m through the government’s New Homes Bonus Scheme, and lead to a projected annual increase in spending power in the area of £2.6m.
