Plans approved for 77-bedroom ‘super-budget’ hotel in Liverpool city centre

Plans to build a new 77-bedroom ‘super-budget’ hotel overlooking Derby Square in Liverpool city centre have been approved by local councillors, a recent news report in the local business media has been able to reveal.

The Liverpool City Council’s planning committee approved a full planning application by easyHotel to change the use of 47 Castle Street, which is located on the corner with Harrington Street, into a hotel. The design and access statement accompanying the application indicates that the hotel accommodation would have a gross internal floor area of 14,833 sq ft.

There would be 12 bedrooms on the first floor, 16 on the second floor, 16 on the third floor, 16 on the fourth floor and 17 on the fifth floor. Salt House Bacaro, the Venetian small plates restaurant on the ground floor, would be retained as part of the proposal.
