NOMA is to expand with a large new-build office development

NOMA, the 20-acre mixed-use redevelopment scheme in Manchester, will undergo further development if plans submitted by MEPC go ahead.
The plans are for 4 Angel Square, which is a grade A premises, to be developed into 11 storeys of office space alongside retail or restaurant space on the ground floor and a public space as part of a link to One Angel Square.

The premises are located at the corner of Corporation Street and Miller Street. The development would be NOMA’s first speculative office new-build.
It is intended to bring more than 2,000 new workers to the area.

Paul Pavia, head of development at MEPC, said: "Major corporates from not just the UK but across the globe are looking to base some of their operations in Manchester thanks to the city's strong civic leadership, thriving culture and leisure scene, and increasing transport and digital connectivity.

"4 Angel Square will bring some much needed supply to the Manchester office market, with demand for high quality workspace outstripping supply, and we're excited to be submitting our proposals to the city council."

Most premises which have more than one use and so will attract different people for different reasons, still use paper visitor books and plastic visitor badges to sign new people in and out of the premises.

Paper time and attendance/access control monitoring is inefficient and prone to errors. There are also potential problems with unprotected data (anyone can leaf through previous entries in the sign-in-book) and the security/health and safety concern of people forgetting to sign out after their visit, and the eternal receptionist struggle to read visitors’ handwriting.

At Time and Attendance North West we have the perfect visitor management solution: our Management of Contractors and Visitors Software (MCVS). This web-based application allows you to book visitor and contractor appointments in advance. Once appointments are booked, both parties receive a notification email with the details.

If the appointment is for a visitor or contractor who needs to go around alone, our MCVS provides a Welfare Check page to set up welfare notification reminders. These reminders (an on screen popup or an email) prompt the host to perform a safety check on the lone worker.
This means that you are kept up to date and there can be no ambiguity about location. A history of checks performed and acknowledged is also recorded for audit purposes.

If our visitor management system is integrated with an access control system, companies can control exactly where visitors can go, eliminating the chance of them wandering accidentally into high-security areas.
