New hotel and offices to be built in Rossmore area of Ellesmere Port

A new development that could potentially see numerous new jobs being created in the Rossmore area of Ellesmere Port was recommended for approval by the council’s planning officers, a recent news report in the local business media was able to reveal.

The land off Jacks Wood Avenue and Rossmore Road East is to be revamped into a 120-bedroom hotel and could also include a pub or restaurant, crèche, offices, a petrol station and drive-thru café or restaurant.

There would also be 278 parking spaces on the site opposite the former Gas Board land.

Commenting on benefits of approving this scheme, councillor Jill Houlbrook said: "It will enhance an area which has been left as scrub land for quite some time and it is nice to see, even though we can’t get what was originally planned for there, something actually developed on this area and get the area moving again, and increase employment."
