Multiple jobs in danger as historic Carlisle engineering company goes under administration
Multiple jobs at a privately owned engineering company in Carlisle with a history dating back to 1859 have come under fire as the company went into administration, according to a news report in the local business media.
Mitchell Dryers entered administration last Wednesday (21 September), with joint administrators Mike Kienlen, Daryl Warwick and Mark Ranson of Armstrong Watson appointed by the directors.
The business has specialised in the field of industrial drying for more than 80 years.
It manufactures equipment in Carlisle that can be supplied to suit a variety of food, chemical, mineral and pharmaceutical materials from laboratory units evaporating a few kilos to large-scale dryers capable of processing many tonnes per hour.
Kienlen said: "We hope to retain the 32 staff whilst negotiations and discussions with any potential purchasers continue."
