Multi-phase refurbishment of Blackpool academy now complete
The £8.2m multi-phase refurbishment of Unity Academy on Warbreck Hill Road in Blackpool has been successfully completed by Bamber Bridge-based Eric Wright Construction (EWC), a news report in the local media could reveal.
The project involved upgrading classrooms, dining and kitchen facilities; adding a dance studio and gym; extending the drama hall; and revamping the science laboratories and hair and beauty teaching rooms.
John Wilson, managing director of EWC, commented: "Construction projects that involve working in a live school environment are always a challenge, so we are really pleased that the phased demolition and refurbishment project has all worked out as planned.
"Adding to the academy’s growing reputation, we are confident that the improved and upgraded facilities have created a 21st century learning environment that can be enjoyed by pupils and teachers for years to come."
