Logistics company in danger of making 250 employees redundant

Logistics company The Charles Gee Group, whose main area of business is transporting wings from Airbus’ site in Broughton, is in danger of going out of business and rendering 250 employees redundant, a news report in the local media has revealed.

The company provides a global supply chain business but trades in the UK as a road haulage, air freight, shipping and general logistics and distribution business. However, after facing some serious financial difficulties, administrators from FRP Advisory were called in on 21 October 2013. The restructuring firm said redundancies were "possible" during the administration process.

One of the administrators said: “We are highly focused on working with the group’s customers and suppliers and in engaging with interested parties.

"In line with economic issues facing many businesses, Charles Gee has faced challenging trading conditions for a number of years and despite the support of its loyal customer base, recent cash flow problems have prompted the need to seek the protection of administration."
