Liverpool port operator goes on recruitment drive

Liverpool-based Peel Ports will start recruiting for the first tranche of the 500 jobs it plans to create by building a £300m deep-water container terminal in Liverpool, the company has recently revealed.

The company will initially hire 90 new members of staff, 75 of which are needed in the next three months, to deliver the Liverpool2 project.

The construction of Liverpool2 is expected to enable the city to handle more than 95 per cent of the world’s largest container vessels and double the port’s capacity.

The new jobs span a range of permanent positions including port operators, electricians, project managers, planners, marine officers, IT staff and sales executives, as well as new roles in finance and management.
