Even offices could benefit from a time and attendance system
The Deva City Office Park in Manchester has two new occupants: DOMU Brands, a lifestyle brands company, and Survivors Manchester, which supports male survivors of sexual abuse and rape.
Deva City Office Park is located on the site of what was Threlfall’s Brewery, off Trinity Way. The previous brewery buildings are grade-II listed, and have been carefully refurbished. In addition, there are 17 office units in an area known as Brewery Yard. The two new companies have moved into this more modern area, with about 1,500 thousand square feet of office space each.
Ed Keany, director of office agency at Edwards & Co, said: "Deva City Office Park is a superb option for occupiers seeking quality office space in the heart of Manchester city centre with both superb road access and onsite car parking.
"The unique features within the former brewery building and the new modern units offer a range of options for occupiers."
Northwood Regional UK director Iain Taylor added: "Since our acquisition of Deva City Office Park in 2011, we have been pleased with the flow of lettings in both the self-contained brewery units and the tower.
"Our investment into the Park has generated some incredibly positive feedback and has proven key in attracting new occupiers. We are delighted to be welcoming DOMU Brands and Survivors Manchester."

Many office-based businesses don’t see the point in using a time and attendance system, but we think differently.
It doesn’t have to be Big Brother – you don’t even need to take action on your data if you don’t want to. But we know from experience that companies find the new, almost real-time data we can offer them very useful in building up a bigger picture of your employees’ punctuality and productivity.
For example, HR staff can very easily view and create reports about the absence or lateness occurrences for every single employee in the company. This could give them advance warning about morale problems in individual departments, or allow them to spot who rings in sick on a Monday or Friday. This means that they can quickly address issues, and easily gather data to support any meetings or discussions.
Company who don’t use time and attendance systems often say that it is good enough for the management to get employees to ring them about absences, and that they will notice suspicious lateness patterns.
But humans are fallible: that’s why we have computers! Unless the manager marks absences down on some sort of calendar they won’t notice any patterns, and lateness can be missed if the manager isn’t actively watching the door! Getting a system to take care of all this time-wasting monitoring for you is just common sense.
Many time and attendance systems require physical hardware, which can’t be installed when you don’t own the place where you work. Others only work in the cloud, which may not be suitable for your company’s needs due to bandwidth, security and software compatibility concerns.
We can offer renting companies our Self Service Module (SSM). This allows employees to clock in and out using either a browser version, or a mobile phone app. They can also request holiday using this app, which eliminates the need for cumbersome paper holiday forms. All the time data is sent straight to the central software, where you can view it in a number of formats.
Why not give us a ring or email us? We’ll be delighted to answer any questions!
