Under the plans Levenshulme, Miles Platting, Withington and Broadway swimming pools would all shut to slash running costs. Three new pools at Beswick, Hough End and Levenshulme will open as replacements within two years. Libraries at Miles Platting, New Moston, Burnage, Fallowfield and Northenden will be replaced with “outreach libraries or community book collections”, while Levenshulme Library will share the same building as the new pool.
