Developer seeks planning permission for £5m scheme in Preston

An affordable housing developer has put forward plans for building a new £5m development on the site of a former mill in Preston, a news report in the local media has recently revealed.

Mulbury Homes has applied for planning permission to redevelop the land off New Hall Lane into 51 new properties on behalf of Adactus Housing Association, which has secured funding from the Homes and Communities Agency for the development. The new scheme is part of a masterplan for the wider area which could involve the construction of more housing in the future.

Greg Mulligan, a director of Mulbury Homes, said: "These modern properties will provide much-needed new family housing while at the same time helping to regenerate the local area by revitalising a derelict piece of land.

"We will continue to consult closely with the community and other local stakeholders to bring this valuable development to fruition."
