BWB Consulting relocates within Manchester to increase business profile
BWB Consulting, an integrated engineering and environmental consultancy, has relocated to new premises within Manchester.
All 30 employees have moved from their original base in the Northern Quarter to 11 Portland Street.
The move is due to the company’s recent success on its core engineering provisions, and its addition of new services including environmental planning consultancy, geo-technical engineering and air quality and acoustics. Currently the company has its headquarters in Nottingham, and has other offices in Birmingham, Leeds, London, and Northampton.
The company wants space to accommodate its intended growth. Warren Bennett, who is in charge of their Manchester office, said: "We were literally bursting out of the skylights in our old offices and we want a more prominent presence that reflects both our position in the market and our commitment to Manchester and the North West.
"We’re working on some significant projects for major clients and we need to both grow the team and provide an environment that attracts and retains top talent, while sending out the right signals about our ambitions for greater success."
Chief executive Steve Wooler added: "The North West is a massively important market for us and expanding into new offices is an important milestone, having first established a presence here in 2008.
"We have some very significant project opportunities in the pipeline and believe our commitment to being a great employer is one of the key reasons why we’re able to deliver complex, major projects for high-profile clients."

Moving to new, larger offices is the perfect time to assess your time and attendance system.
Many office-based companies don’t believe that they need a structured attendance monitoring system, but we argue that the data from our attendance system can gather will boost their efficiency. As we say at Time and Attendance North West, time and attendance system isn’t Big Brother, it just gives you the big picture!
You may not need to know the exact timings of your salaried staff as a boss or a manager, but HR might find a full history of their timings very important if you ask them to put a member of staff on a disciplinary for lateness. Without careful documentation, proving lateness could be difficult.
Many companies still operate on a casual “Just let me know,” attitude, which make it difficult to clearly state how many absences they might have had over a certain time period without laboriously scrolling through texts or emails.
With our centralised time and attendance system, HR can see everyone’s clocking data for whom they have permission, and quickly and easily export this or format it into reports using our report wizard or advanced report creation settings.
Staff can clock in either using our physical terminals, which work with fingerprints and/or radio-frequency smartcards, or if physical terminals can not be installed then we can offer an online/app-based clocking in service called the Self-Service Module (SSM).
The mobile app version can also utilise GPS to tell you the location of employees as they clock in, which is useful for remote workers.
