Benefits of time and attendance management
Wonderbill, a bill management specialist, will open an office in Spinningfields, Manchester.
The company started in 2016, helping the public to manage household bills using an app.
Their HQ is in Canary Wharf and they employ about 50 staff. They decided to expand because they wanted to take advantage of a spike in consumer demand and recruit new talented staff.
Wonderbill are backed by Shell Ventures and BCG Digital Ventures is set to open an office in Manchester.
Vice president of engineering Gary Higham said: "The business is in a time of exponential growth and our next move is critical to our continued success. Manchester has an extensive talent pool for skilled software engineers and developers, so it’s clear to see why it’s a prime location for us to start expanding our WonderBill development team.
"We are actively looking for ambitious candidates for our new office location as we look to enhance our app’s functionality and meet the growing demand of bill-savvy consumers."

Moving office is a great time to take stock of your time and attendance policies, particularly if you are looking to hire more staff. Many office-based businesses don’t pay enough attention to how they monitor staff attendance, since their employees are paid annually and they trust managers to address any problems which might arise.
While this is certainly a good approach in principle, there are times when having solid data behind decisions is useful. For example, if an HR department want to take disciplinary action against an employee for persistent lateness over a year, it is a lot easier for them to pull data straight from our central system than for them to go through a year’s worth of emails, or ask the employee’s manager to tell them what they remember.
Another area where recording attendance data is vital is in the payroll. This is useful both for making sure that payroll is accurate, if your office demands accurate “only paid for time worked” payslips for salaried staff, and for making sure that you are paying your employees the National Minimum Wage.
There are a few ways that you can integrate our clocking systems in your workforce. If you own your own building or can negotiate wiring, you can use our physical clocking terminals. These are operated either by radio-frequency smartcards or by fingerprint biometrics, and the data collected is sent straight to our centralised system.
If you don’t own your office space, you can still benefit from the accuracy of clocking in and out. We offer a Self Service Module (SSM), which can be accessed by a browser or as an app on your mobile phone. This allows you to clock in and out with a tap or a click from wherever you have an internet connection.
