The head of Blessed Trinity RC College in Ormerod Road, Burnley, defended the use of surveillance cameras. Richard Varey said the two cameras were not in the changing room or toilet areas. Moor Park in Preston is another Lancashire secondary among 30 in the North West listed as having CCTV in changing areas. Lancashire County Council building design boss John Ferris said: “Security and the safety of pupils are why schools have CCTV. The majority of secondary schools in Lancashire have these systems.”
