240 jobs secured as part of 50m pounds investment in Manchester brewery

A famous brewer has revealed plans to invest 50m pounds in order to bolster production output at its Manchester facility and secure 240 jobs in the process, a news report in the local business media could reveal.

Heineken hopes that this sizeable investment would help increase output at the Manchester brewery by about 250 million pints a year (two million hectolitres), while a new kegging line will also be installed at the Moss Side site. Work on the site is already under way and is expected to be completed by mid-2015.

The group has also revealed plans to invest £18.5m in its Star Pubs and Bars estate as well as spending £58m on its Hereford cider operations in Ledbury.
