New supermarket – does it need a new attendance system?
The regeneration specialist Ion has announced that Lidl has taken the retail space on its Lime Street development. The development is nearly complete, with with a hotel, student accommodation and further retail units.
The German budget supermarket has seen considerable growth recently thanks to its value products. Its regional head of property Stuart Jardine believes the investment "marks another milestone in our ambitious store expansion programme".
"We’ve seen incredible demand for Lidl stores across the country and look forward to offering our quality products and incredible value to shoppers in and around Liverpool city centre," he added.
Steve Parry, managing director of Ion, added: "It has always been important to us to reflect the roots of Lime Street through this development.
"The façade created by Anthony Brown tells the story of the history of the street – from the penny bazaar to the cinemas and the milk bars. We want Lime Street to once again become a street that is busy with life, commerce and entertainment."

Supermarkets need a large number of staff, including night shifts and part-time staff in all areas from warehouse staff to cashiers and shelf stackers.
Very often, supermarkets are still relying on paper timesheets, handed in by their workers at the end of the week or month.
