Multiple jobs lost as kitchen and bathroom retailer goes into administration
Up to 300 members of staff had to be made redundant after a fitted kitchen and bathroom retailer from Oldham went into administration, a recent news report in the local media has been able to suggest.
Betta Living provided fitted and home furniture and over the past few years had expanded its store footprint rapidly to meet growing demand.
However, administrators said that rising occupational costs from newer space had pushed the company into a loss-making position and squeezed cash-flow, more recently to "unsustainable levels".
As a result, all 300 staff across its portfolio of 24 stores have been made redundant.
A spokesperson for the administrators said: "We will be working closely with those impacted by store closures over the coming days. Our immediate priority will be to work with any former employees and ensure that they are able to make timely claims from the Redundancy Protection Service."
