Plans to build 230 new homes in Preston set for approval

Plans to build almost 230 homes next to a riding school on the outskirts of Preston look set to be given the go-ahead, a recent news report has been able to suggest.

On Thursday, 7 July 2016, Preston Council’s planning committee will meet to discuss an outline application by Andrew Bradshaw to create 230 homes and open spaces on land fronting Sandy Lane immediately to the north of Maxy House Farm riding school. Bradshaw is the owner of Maxy House Farm.

The 25.4-acre grassland plot earmarked for development lies to the north west of Preston city centre and south of the M55. It is proposed that the residential scheme would mostly comprise two-storey or two-and-a-half-storey houses.

The applicant’s intention is to provide 69 affordable homes onsite. Details of the proposed affordable homes, including type, tenure and distribution across the scheme, would follow in a subsequent reserved matters application if outline permission is granted.
