New development in Liverpool granted planning permission

Plans to build a new 98-home development on Prescot Road in Liverpool have been approved by the local authority, a recent news report in the local media has been able to reveal.

The developer, Bellway Homes, has been given the green light to create a mix of three- and four-bedroom properties on the 6.5-acre site formerly used by Merseyside Police for recreational purposes.

The plot has been vacant for several years and, although a partially brownfield site, was allocated as green space within Liverpool City Council’s adopted unitary development plan.

Nexus Planning secured consent on behalf of Bellway Homes. Justin Cove, associate director at Nexus Planning, said: "This is a significant scheme which is going to provide major regeneration benefits to the local area by creating good-quality family housing on a formerly redundant site.”
