Jobs saved as tyre traders bought out of administration

17 jobs have been secured after a tyre trading company was bought out of administration, a recent news report has been able to reveal.

North West Tyre Traders, which supplies and fits tyres to both private and commercial vehicles, traded through a tough market from 2010 onwards. Cashflow had been impacted by a reduction in sales following a reduced demand in its key markets during the recession.

The firm, which has depots in Kendal, Morecambe, Carnforth and Garstang, near Preston, has also suffered storm-inflicted structural damage to one of the depots, while the Kendal operation was forced to close for ten weeks due to nearby water-supply works. This resulted in a loss of business and created further cashflow difficulties leading to significant creditor pressure.

A sale out of administration "provided the best long-term solution for the business and associated jobs" said administrators at FRP Advisory.
