Liverpool set to create thousands of jobs as part of £230m Growth Deal

Up to 15,000 new jobs could be created across Merseyside as local enterprise partnership (LEP) chairman Robert Hough and cities minister Greg Clark officially signed Liverpool’s £230m Growth Deal.

The deal includes £138m for transport schemes to develop freight and logistics hub plans; £41.1m for skills capital funding to enhance and grow colleges; and funding to set up a Business Growth Hub to help companies access funding support.

Liverpool had bid for £250m from the government, but city leaders declared themselves happy with the final allocation.
