Liverpool building to be redeveloped into almost 200 student apartments

A derelict Liverpool building is set to be redeveloped into 200 student apartments after staying empty for the past five years, a recent news report in the local media was able to reveal.

Under the plans submitted to the local council by Legacy Student Living, the former Rapid building on Liverpool’s Renshaw Street is to be redeveloped into a 12 storey property featuring 192 studio apartments aimed at post-graduate and international students.

The scheme would also include an office, common room, coffee shop and cycle storage, and there would also be a Winter Garden on the 11th floor and mezzanine part deck on the 12th floor.

In total there would be 78,836 sq ft of space developed across the property.

Developer Legacy Student Living focuses on contemporary and carbon-zero student schemes across the UK and Europe. It aims to create more than 5,000 student beds over five years aimed at both students and key workers.
