Huge apartment scheme planned for Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle

A residential developer has submitted some very ambitious plans to Liverpool City Council that, if approved, could see a large number of old buildings being demolished and replaced with almost 800 new apartments.

The development scheme targets the site of the 18th century Joseph Heap and Sons rice mill, located between Park Lane, Beckworth Street, Carpenters Row and Cornhill in the Baltic Triangle area, a news report in the local media could recently reveal.

The new development would comprise five blocks of between ten and 25 storeys and will features 143 one-bed, 276 two-bed and 96 three-bed apartments.

A second application for land flanked by Park Lane, Pownall Street, Liver Street and Beckworth Street has also been submitted by the developer. This is set to comprise two buildings from ten to 20 storeys to provide 284 apartments.

Sixty studios along with 54 one-bed, 136 two-bed and 34 three-bed apartments will be built in this scheme. In total, planning permission is being sought for 799 apartments.
