Criminals dug a 100-foot tunnel to steal cash in Levenshulme. They cut through concrete to gain access to a cash machine overnight at Blockbuster in Fallowfield Shopping Precinct, in the Manchester district. Detectives believe it may have been carried out by the same gang of thieves who tried a similar scheme in the same area in 2007. Det Sgt Ian Shore from Longsight CID said of the thieves’ work: “In all my years of service, I’ve never seen anything as elaborate.”
