Building door access uses same smart card to clock in and identify staff
Two North West men were convicted after trying to steal from the railways. Terry Doherty (48) of Rushton Close, Burtonwood, Warrington, Cheshire admitted to conspiracy to steal from both the West Coast Mainline and Manchester Metrolink and was sentenced to two years and six months. Meanwhile, 33-year-old Stuart Amphlett of Sefton Street, Whitefield, Manchester, was sentenced to 18 months after having pleaded guilty to conspiracy to steal from Manchester Metrolink. Transport police said Doherty conspired with Amphlett to steal rail from the Metrolink.
