Self service system allows workers to view their absence calendar
Union members at Cheshire West and Chester Council are to be balloted for industrial action in a dispute over terms and conditions. Cheshire West and Chester Council was formed nearly three years ago from a merger of Ellesmere Port and Neston, Vale Royal and Chester District councils, along with part of Cheshire County Council. A spokesman for Cheshire West and Chester Council said the changes were to “equalise” terms and conditions which “which vary greatly” between employees of the four old authorities.
Smart Card clocking systems from Time and Attendance North West include many features which monitor and report on staff absence. The online self service module allows employees or contractors to view or change their personal information via an Internet Browser. Access to the self-service module is username and password protected. After a successful login, staff can view their absence calendar and make holiday requests; add or amend any of their clockings, to be authorised subsequently; or add/annotate reasons why they were absent.
