Shave off time taken to clock on with proximity read smart cards
The Liverpool-based chain TJ Hughes has closed its doors in branches at Birkenhead and Rochdale. The firm employs 66 staff in Birkenhead and 40 in Rochdale. Stores in Chester, St Helens, Bootle, Hanley and Warrington have also shut. The company called in the administrators in June, putting a total of 4,000 jobs at risk, after a difficult period of trading. Some shops, including those in Liverpool and Widnes, have been bought by Lewis’s Home Retail.
Companies encountering financial problems can boost efficiency via Time and Attendance North West’s time and attendance systems which shave off time taken to clock on. Smart cards used for clocking employ proximity read technology where the badge does not have to be removed from a wallet or purse. The badge will read through the wallet in a quarter of a second (up to 15 times faster than swipe systems and more reliable). Clocking in and out is simple – just hold the badge for a moment in front of the reader and it reads automatically.
